Solid Shampoo Bar Recipe
Simple and easy. Who can resist a solid shampoo bar? If you're not familiar, solid shampoo bars have been around for a while now. Growing in popularity due to their eco-conscious packaging, and over all convenience these fun bars are always a huge hit!
Make these bars using our new Melt & Pour Solid Shampoo Bar Base! This base has added soothing ingredients such as Aloe Vera. Feel free to add as much or as little as you like to this solid shampoo bar.
Ingredients:
- 500gr Solid Shampoo Bar Base
- 1oz Ultra Refined Shea Nut Butter
- 1tsp Olive Oil
- 1tsp Fractionated Coconut Oil
- 10-20 Drops Essential Oil (I used Lemon Oil for added hair benifits. Helps control oil and maintain a healthy flake free scalp)
- 1/2tsp Water Soluble Krazy Colour Dye (I used grape) *OPTIONAL*
Silicone Mold
Spray bottle with alcohol
Dried flowers *OPTIONAL*
Instructions:
Melt your Solid Shampoo Bar Base on a double boiler. Cutting your base into smaller pieces will help it melt faster.
Once melted add your Shea Butter, Olive Oil and Coconut Oil. Melt again fully.
Once fully melted, take your base off the heat and add your essential oil and your dye if you would like a coloured bar.
Fully combine and mix together until desired scent level and colour are reached.
*PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN ADDING YOUR DYE* You need less then 1/2 a tsp of dye. You do not want the dye to stain or discolour your hair when using* TIP: If the lather of the bar is colourful you have probably added too much dye
Pour your melted base into your silicone mold. Spray with alcohol to help avoid bubbles.
Top with dried flowers if desired.
Let harden for 1-2 hours.
Unmold your Shampoo Bars.
Enjoy!
